Hallux rigidus is perhaps more commonly known by its other name, “Big Toe Arthritis.” The condition is described by intense pain, jolting up from the foot. It can be easily identified by the image of a bone protruding from the big toe area, destroying the image of the foot’s “smooth” surface. This pain is indeed caused by the elevated position of that bone. Although this condition may sound like the podiatric equivalent of doom, there are several ways to treat it.

Dr. Tanno Kaur of Greater Washington Advanced Podiatry has some advice on how to get rid of hallux rigidus, offering insight on different treatment options for the condition. Welcome back to Podiatry in Minutes, brought to you by Greater Washington Advanced Podiatry!
